... and take control of other aspects of your life that can really impact on the health of your gut
It's not just about nutrition.
Stress, poor sleep patterns and lack of (or too much) exercise can all contribute to poor digestion and impact on gut health. Your surrounding environment needs to be considered too as it can contain elements that also contribute to poor gut health. For example, you could eat well, sleep well and exercise to your heart's content but if you're not addressing stress (in its many forms) you may still suffer with digestion and gut issues.
Regaining and retaining good gut health means addressing all four steps.
Find out how stress can impact on digestion and gut health.
Did you know that too much exercise can be stressful on your body?
When was the last time you had a good night’s sleep?
This is more about stress. If you are exhausted and then do some high intensity exercise you are adding to your stress levels. I talk you through which exercise is best for you at whichever stage you are at.
DOES SLEEP REALLY AFFECT YOUR GUT HEALTH?
Yes - because all the repair happens at night so if you are not sleeping properly you are not repairing and healing. Also lack of sleep often leads to poor food choices which could flare up your symptoms.
STRESS AND GUT HEALTH
Your brain and gut are linked by the vagus nerve which sends signals in both directions. So if you don't address stress you may continue to have IBS symptoms....
